Considering the situation of rivers eco-system in the State, a workshop was organized on 21/7/17 for drafting of a policy on ‘Sand Harvesting and Marketing’. Geologists, sand traders, officials, mineral department's officers and technical specialists were present in the workshop. The following points were discussed during the meeting –
• Use of human labour or machines for sand harvesting
• Use of scientific methods to set quantity of sand harvesting.
• How to protect the ecology of the rivers and its surrounding areas?
• How much sand can be harvested from different sand mines located on the rivers.
• Sand pricing policy for the users/ citizens on the basis of cost of sand mining from the river bed, including the expenditures on royalty, transportation etc and profit margin etc.

The Department of Mineral Resources, Government of Madhya Pradesh has drafted a consultation note for the citizens to understand its approach and solicit the comments, feedback and suggestions of citizens /stakeholders on the said note by midnight of 05th September, 2017.

More the number of Service providers, lessor the chances of Illegal mini golf. The service providers in Itself would check the Illegal mining by keeping an eye on the other service providers for any shortcomings g's and shortcut methods.
