Khadi Gramodyog, Madhya Pradesh is inviting suggestions on ways to promote Khadi, the indigenous weave of India.

Madhya Pradesh Khadi Gramodyog has launched a clothing line of fashionable and designer Khadi under the name ‘Kabira’ in the market. At present, 14 outlets of the brand are operational in the state in Bhopal, Gwalior, Indore, Jabalpur, and other big cities.

MP Khadi Gramodyog is inviting suggestions from people on the below mentioned topics:

● How to popularize clothes made of Khadi?
● How to create awareness on handmade clothes?

The brand Kabira has been launched with the main objective of popularizing Khadi among people of all age groups and to create awareness on ‘Swadeshi’ costumes. It also aims to ensure Khadi textile and craftsmanship enjoy the same respectable position as other modern fabrics.

Khadi is not only eco-friendly but also fits well into any modern attire. Although popularly known as the weave of Mahatma Gandhi, from formals to casuals and from bridal wears to designer footwear, today you can find Khadi leaving a mark everywhere. Gandhiji had mentioned in his speeches that Khadi is a symbol of unity of the people of India and embodies the country’s economic freedom and equality.

The art of cultivation of cotton, its spinning and weaving is India’s contribution to the world at large. India was the first country across the globe to spin a yarn and weave cloth. Khadi stands for this ‘sense of freedom’. Promotion and rampant use of Khadi is likely to give a boost to small scale and cottage industries.

Share your valued thoughts and suggestions to give Khadi the popularity it deserves.
