The Social Justice Department is continuously launching various schemes and organizing social assistance programmes for social welfare and women empowerment.

With this aim, the Mukhyamantri Kalyani Sahayata Yojana has been started for widows by the department.

Under this scheme, the government will provide monthly pension of Rs 300 to all the widows between the age group of 18 to 79 years. All older widows will get Rs 500 as monthly pensions. In addition, the government will also provide Rs 2 lakh for remarriage of widows.
All the widows will now be called as “Kalyani”.

The main objective of this scheme is to empower widows and help them get economic and social benefits from the government. This scheme will make women self-reliant and self-dependent.
