At a time when children are expected to live a carefree life, they are being pushed to abandon their childhood and take up responsibilities they are unaware and unrequired of.

Forced marriages involving an individual under the age of 18 are most commonly called child marriages.

Incidents of child marriage have been shown to increase, making children subject to trauma which endangers their physical, mental and emotional development.

It spreads the cycles of poverty, poor health, illiteracy, and domestic violence that have negative impacts on overall development, prosperity, and stability of the country.

Child marriage should have no place in the present and future. Children around the world deserve to live a fulfilling childhood, go to school, be free of the violence and negative consequences associated with child marriage, and have the right to choose whom they want to marry as adults.

Women and Child Development Department, Madhya Pradesh urges you to think of ways to eliminate child marriage. Ending child marriage is the right thing to do. Tell us about some campaigning ideas, educational drives and effective tools that can be implemented to end this social evil from the roots.
