Inviting slogan for protection and conservation of cows in Madhya Pradesh

From ancient times cows have been highly respectable in our country. Gomutra (Cow urine) is an important part of our country’s tradition. It is considered Holy and also equated with ‘Amrit’ (nectar of the God). Cow urine is said to have a spiritual cleansing effect. Besides, cows are the biggest milk producers in the country, which have rightfully earned them the title of ‘Gaumata’.

A lot is being done for the protection and preservation of cows in Madhya Pradesh. At present, there are 627 gaushalas in the state. Of these, 625 are operational, which cater to the needs of 1,66,967 cows in it. The state government has decided to further build 3000 Gaushalas by 2020.

For the protection of cows, MP Government Animal Husbandry Department initiated the MP Goupalan and Gausamvardhan Board in 2004. The Board runs a donation campaign for the wellbeing of cows in the state. The Board, in association with MP MyGov is running a contest inviting slogan ideas for the campaign that will help them raise awareness on donation and reach out to a larger number of people for the same.
