In order to empower tribal women financially and socially, Madhya Pradesh government is continuously making efforts to connect the backward Gond and Baiga tribes with the mainstream society.

Kodo-Kutki is millet largely grown in Madhya Pradesh by tribal people. These millets are growing on skeletal soils that are less than 15cm deep. It does not demand rich soils for their survival and growth. These are annual millet and have short growing season and can withstand in both drought and water logging.Kodo-Kutki millets are highly nutritious, non-glutinous and not acid forming foods. These are nutritionally superior in terms of proteins, carbohydrate, fibre, vitamins and minerals.
